A couple weeks ago I posted some data from Baidu about the mobile phone industry in China. Baidu also has some great data specific to Android, and here it is!
1. Android Market Share
For those that didn’t read the last article, Android currently has about 22% of the market. While that’s nowhere near Symbian, it is rapidly catching up.
2. Android Mobile Phone Brands
HTC and Motorola are the top ‘Androidified’ brands with about 30% and 20% of search users’ attention respectively.
3. Android Phone Models
HTC has 3 of the top 10 Android-based smartphones in China.
4. Android Phone User Gender Distribution
According to Baidu, over 70% of those searching for Android phones are male.
5. Android Phone User Age Distribution
People aged 20 to 40 are the main Android users in China.
The data for this article was obtained from Baidu. It’s based on user search data from Baidu, China’s most popular search engine.
