It’s called Teamwork Project Manager, and here are 4 of the key benefits as I see them:

  • Excellent repeating task management. I’ve seen recurring task management done in many different ways, and it usually works somewhat awkwardly. On Teamwork, it works flawlessly – easy to use, but with enough options.
  • Chinese-language interface. For us, this is a big bonus. Each team member can set their own interface language settings. I don’t believe they have much documentation in Chinese though. The site also loads fine within China.
  • Flexible reports. Teamwork makes it pretty easy for me to understand everything that’s going on in the company. It’s easy to see tasks for all members, zoom in to see updates for a specific project, generate time reports in csv files, etc. Plus, they even have a cool feature that allows me to “impersonate” other members of the team so that I can easily test out their view to make sure they have the right permissions. One thing I’d still like to see are some built-in reports for time records. For now, I’ll do that in Excel.
  • Great user interface. It’s just easy to use. Things are usually where I would expect them to be. Much of the work of editing and adding tasks is done on the current page, without the need to reload. The stuff that users would use all the time is right in front and there’s more functionality a couple clicks away.
